Paramedic
Steal an Ambulance and rescue dying patients to unlock Health and Infinite Sprint in GTA Advance's Paramedic missions.
To start the Paramedic missions, you'll need to climb into an Ambulance and press the L + R buttons together. Ambulances will permanently spawn outside the hospital on each island, or you can cause some mayhem by killing a few people and wait for one to arrive. You'll also find them randomly parked in parking lots around the city.
The objective of the Paramedic missions is to drive across the city to pick up injured patients and deliver them to the hospital. Each level will add more patients to collect, however in GTA Advance, the Ambulance can hold an unlimited number of patients meaning you can collect them all in a single run. The patients will spawn fairly randomly on the sidewalk around the city, but thankfully they just stay where they are.
The mission up to and including Level 12 will take around 45 minutes to an hour to complete, however thankfully beating 12 levels doesn't need to be done in a single run. The game tracks each level you've completed and if you fail or quit the mission, you'll restart at the start of that level the next time you attempt it. So for example lets say you're on level 6 and have picked up 2 patients then blow the Ambulance up. Next time you get in and start the mission, you'll start on level 6 with no patients picked up. This is makes the missions much easier than they would have been, because you'll almost certainly damage the Ambulance to the point where it's almost impossible to get through all 12 levels.
I personally swapped out the Ambulance for a new one after every 2 or 3 levels depending on how badly it was smoking. There's also the risk a random pedestrian will pull you out of the Ambulance when you stop which will also end the mission, so this functionality is a life saver.
Time Limits & Rules
The time will constantly count down, so you need to be as quick as you can to reach the patients, however you're given a fairly chunky bit of time at the start of each level, which increases each time you complete a level. After 3 or 4 levels you'll be on 10+ minutes which is more than enough to get through any of the levels. Towards the later levels you'll have almost 30 minutes to pick up patients so the time isn't really the main threat to this mission.
It's also worth noting that it's impossible to run over the patients because they're already flat on the sidewalk when you arrive, so you don't need to worry too much about being careful as you collect them, however always be aware than angry pedestrians might try to pull you out of the vehicle when you stop which will cancel the mission.
If you destroy the Ambulance, or flip it over, you'll also end the mission. Be very careful when using the handbrake to turn as the Ambulance can flip over if you're going too fast. I personally would try to avoid using it.

Tips
There's no in-game map in GTA Advance so all you've got to go on is the radar. The green blips which indicate patients will increase in size as you get closer, so always head to the biggest green circle on the radar first.
It's worth knowing where some of the police bribes (wanted star collectables) are so that you can lose the cops if they see you accidentally splatter innocent pedestrians on the way to save the one you need.
I would recommend doing the Paramedic missions as soon as possible at the start of the game. Although they're a bit frustrating and time consuming, the reward of infinite sprint, and health pickups at your hideout, are extremely useful in general gameplay and will make the rest of the game much easier.
Rewards
- After completing Level 8 (rescuing 36 patients in total), a Health pickup is delivered to the Hideout Items. You can go in and out of the menu to reuse the health as many times as you need, essentially giving you a way to fill your health every time you're at the hideout.
- After completing level 12, Mike will never tire from running. This means you can sprint at full speed indefinitely which is incredibly useful throughout the game. Running is much easier than driving as you can jump over walls and vehicles, plus Mike can sprint faster than most cars, so being able to sprint around the map makes the gameplay much easier.
The Paramedic missions are a requirement towards 100% completion.
