Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories is Rockstar Games' first venture on the PlayStation Portable, and the first game in the series to feature online multiplayer via the PSP's WiFi connection.

Gameplay
Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories uses the same basic engine as the previous games in the series, and features much of the same gameplay mechanics. LCS is the first game in the series that features online multiplayer, which was more or less an experiment to help Rockstar Games with the development for the multiplayer that would later be found in Grand Theft Auto IV. The story is set in 1998, slightly before the events of GTA 3.
