Avenging Angels

To start the Avenging Angel missions, you'll first need to complete story missions up to and including 'Frighteners' for Salvatore Leone. This will unlock the Avenging Angel Fatigues as an outfit at the safehouse which you must be wearing to start the mission.

Once you've equipped the outfit, you'll need to head to a specific location where you can find the Avenging Angels. They only spawn in a certain place on each island:

• Portland - The train station in Chinatown at the West side of the island.
• Staunton Island - The South-East end of Belleville Park.
• Shoreside Vale - The North of Lower Wichita Gardens.

When you see an Avenging Angel member, get out of your vehicle and stand next to them. You should be prompted to start the mission by pressing the d-pad up button.

The objective of the Avenging Angels missions is to speed around the city killing groups of gang members before the time runs out. Sometimes you'll be chasing a group of bikers riding down the road or inside a vehicle they've stolen, others it'll be a group of people on foot near a burnt-out vehicle and more often than not, it'll just be a group of sword and bat wielding enemies in a tightly packed alleyway.

The missions are very similar to the law enforcement Vigilante missions, only you're free to use any vehicle you like and you'll mostly be killing enemies on foot. Sadly the cops also dislike you doing their dirty work for them and you will end up with a wanted level, but you'll have enough time to go to the Pay 'n' Spray to lose it whenever you need to.

On the mission, your Avenging Angel buddy will come with you and shout out instructions. Every time you kill all of the enemies on a level, your partner will give you a new challenge. You can, however, only unlock a new level if you've got your buddy with you. If they die, you're supposed to go back to the Avenging Angel location and pick up another one.

You'll need to complete 15 levels in a single run, once on each island, to fully complete the mission. Fifteen levels on each island will take around 15-20 minutes to complete.

Time Limits & Rules

The time will constantly count down, however after killing all enemies on a level, you'll receive a fairly large time boost. After a few levels you'll have more than enough time so there's not really any urgency in these missions and you're free to use the Pay 'n' Spray to clear your wanted level.

You'll fail the mission if you are Wasted, Busted or you run out of time.

Tips

Although the missions are more fun with your Avenging Angel buddy, it's safer if you just abandon them somewhere secluded and do them on your own. If they're killed, you'll probably struggle to recruit another member and will need to restart the mission.

Ensure you stock up on submachine gun ammo before the mission as you'll be doing a lot of drive-bying. It's also probably easier to attempt these missions on a bike so you can shoot forwards.

Rewards

• After completing 15 levels in a row in Portland, you'll unlock the Avenger. A custom painted Freeway motorbike outside Toni's Portland safehouse. The bike is only available once, so if you don't save it in your garage, it'll disappear.

• After completing 15 levels in a row on Staunton Island, you'll earn the ability to not lose money when you're busted. This isn't much use because if you're anything like me, you'll go down fighting anyway.

• After completing 15 levels in a row in Shoreside Vale, you'll unlock the "Hero Garb" outfit.

The Avenging Angels missions are a requirement towards 100% completion.
